AJ was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot and an anomalous coronary artery. Since birth he has had 3 open heart surgeries. In 2016, AJ had a stent placed to relieve pressure and to reduce his heart size and then two more stents due to a pulmonary aneurysm.  AJ will need another open heart surgery within the next 12-18 months to replace his pulmonary conduit, but for now he is a happy healthy 3 year old.

(Getting a Gene Tote with the goodies inside from Savannah’s Hope was like “getting a gift on Christmas” according to Taunie, AJ’s mother.  Knowing that someone took a tragic loss and turned it into spreading love to other families in need was amazing to her.)
